Our Security and Safety Committee meets once a month to discuss
all items related to the security and safety of our parish school
families, staff, and students. We meet the last
Tuesday of each month at 8am in the Art room. All are
welcome to attend.
Rich Romo has been hired as our Director of Safety and Security.
He will be working with our administration to implement all
safety and security procedures.
Under the direction of CA Safe Schools, the St. Ignatius
School Safety and Security Manual was created and completed
in June. This will be updated and changed as necessary.
The school and parish have an Incident and Accident Report Binder
that is used to track all incidents on the campus. The
Safety committee will use these reports to change/update any
procedures and to identify any areas of concern. We
are asking all staff and all parents to support us by reporting
any minor or major incidents or accidents on line. You can
do an on line report by going to our website at
stignatiussacschool.org and Click on “support,” click on
“Advisory Council,” click on “Safety Committee,” and then click
on incident report. After you have completed the report,
just hit submit and your report will be sent to the school
principal.
We have designated ext. 185 for our community to use to leave
messages regarding any concerns for the safety and security of
our students and our families. This ext. will be checked
daily. We encourage you to use this number or to contact us
personally for an immediate response.
All families are asked to provide their cell number AND their
carrier on our Schoolspeak communications system. This will
allow us to contact you immediately through a text in case of an
emergency. When you have any changes to your contact
information you will need to update this
information yourself.
The Catholic School Advisory Commission has several important
functions to fulfill as it helps advise the principal and
pastor. One important function is Facilities and Safety.
The goal of the Facilities and Safety Committee is to advise and
assist the school administration in planning for the current and
future needs. All aspects are considered:
Safety-procedures, intervention and prevention, capital
needs, documentation, and reporting
Facilities-capital needs, current and future program needs,
site improvements
Communication-partnership with parish, local business, and
school district programs, and reporting to all shareholders
Saint Ignatius Parish School has established a voice mailbox to
accept messages of concern regarding threats (including threats
of self-harm) or reports of criminal activity. A staff
member is designated to check for messages at the beginning of
each school day. The Safety and Security line is accessed
by calling (916) 488-3907 and dialing extension
185.
