Cross-Country

St. Ignatius’s co-ed Cross-Country team runs long and hard each fall.  This sport is available to students in fifth through eighth grade.

NEW! SI Pep Squad
Interested? Contact Lisa Schneider

The PAL has added JV & Varsity PEP squads to the Athletic offerings this year.  At this time, PEP is for 5th – 8th grades (PAL rule).  All 5th – 8th students interested in participating on the PEP team need to contact Lisa at lschneider@stignatiussacschool.org.  Coaches are needed for these squads too!  

PEP is not “Cheer” due to no tumbling, pyramids, etc allowed by the PAL.

St. Ignatius will have three PEP squads:  1)Varsity squad for the Fall season 2)JV Squad for the Winter season and 3)Varsity squad for the Winter season.

Athletics Wish List

Do you have fitness equipment at home you are no longer using?  Athletics would love to have it for our Tiger Strong program and other Athletic teams!

We are looking for:  Box Jumps; Resistance Bands; Medicine Balls; Kettle balls, etc.    

We are not looking for:  Cardio equipment (stationary bikes, etc).

XC Practice is canceled this week
September 6th and 8th

Sometimes, mother nature is so cranky it’s pretty obvious and that’s where we are with practice this week.

Practice is officially canceled both Tuesday and Thursday due to ridiculous heat.  

The bad news? Kids won’t have many practices experience before their first meet on Friday Sept 16th.

The good news? This group is the best group of athletes we’ve had in years. Every single one of them went a mile and a half on our first day in the trails with…wait for it….ZERO COMPLAINING. It’s a Christmas miracle.

Athletics Forms 2024-25
Three forms needed/student-athlete

Each St. Ignatius student planning to participate in a St. Ignatius school sport must have on file three forms in the office:  1) their physician signed medical release form;  2)Athletics Emergency form; and 3)signed acknowledgement form for Concussion, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and Opiod fact sheets.  The forms are due prior to tryouts (Girls Volleyball and JV & Varsity basketball) or the first practice for all other sports.

2024 Cross Country
It's not too late to join!

All 5th – 8th grade boys and girls are welcome to join the St. Ignatius Cross Country team!!    Students may participate in more than one St. Ignatius sport at a time.  BONUS THIS YEAR!  All Cross Country participants may participate in Wednesday morning TIGER STRONG at no additional cost during the Cross Country season.
