Every time the class meets (Tuesdays and Thursdays), the class is greeted with:

 Students should be able to respond to both greetings with:

The students are instructed in Spanish to stand up and to put their hands together for the daily prayer as follows:

 Students will learn that in Spanish greetings can be formal or informal depending on whom you are talking to.  If the student is talking to someone their own age, then they will learn to use the informal greetings.  If the student is talking to someone older, someone with a title or to a stranger, then they will learn to use the formal greetings.
 Students will have a formal written spelling and translation quiz on the greetings.
 Students will be greeted before class and on the playground in Spanish and should be able to respond in Spanish 80% of the time.
 Students will practice the greetings with their classmates in the classroom
 Students will be able to ask how others feel.
 Students will be able to say how they feel.
