General Information
Arrival and Dismissal
School hours for TK students are 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Minimum Days students attend 8:00 am -11:45 am. Monday mornings we have assembly in the gym at 8:00 am. Drop off and pick up will be at the main front gate. Parents can pull up in front of the gate for your student to exit or enter your car. Please note that parents do not get out of the car as your student should be ready to exit/enter the car upon pulling into the car line. If you the parent want or need to come inside the gate, you must park in a parking space. Your student must be walked to and from the parking lot by an adult at all times. Students who attend Extended Services will be walked over by a staff member. At the end of the day, the teacher will walk students out to the gate or to Extended. Parents are asked to wait outside the gated area or by the school office. If your student is to go home with someone other than you, the parent, please send a note/email informing me on that day or if it will be on a regular basis, then a one time note/email will be fine. Early dismissals-a note is needed for leaving school early. Your student will meet you in the office at the appointed time.
IN TK, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOUR CHILD WALK INTO THE CLASSROOM BY HIM/HER SELF. OUR DAY BEGINS AS SOON AS I GREET THEM AT THE DOOR.
Snacks
There will be snack time everyday, so please send a snack with your student. If your child will be going to Extended Services after class please provide both a lunch and a snack; unless your student will be receiving hot lunch. Nutritious snacks are the best. **No glass containters please**
Physical Education Days
Our class will have P.E. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week. Girls need to wear shorts under their jumpers. All students need to wear athletic shoes on those days. Students will not be required to change clothes. Please make sure the shoes have non-marking soles so they won’t leave marks on the gym floor.
Technology
Students will attend Tech Lab once a week. In tech class, students will be building their letter sounds, letter recognition, number identification, color identification, and shape recognition with interactive fun academic apps.
Library
Students will visit the school library once a week. Students will be read a story, browse through grade level books, and check books out. TK students are asked to have only one book checked out at a time. All library issues need to be resolved either with the return of a book or a fine paid.
